Daemon Tools is an optical media emulation tool that is short for Disk And Execution Monitor Tools. Daemon tool is a Virtual drive software that emulates images in forms of Cds/Dvds. It is currently compatible with Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7. It has a special mode for proper operation of copies of discs with advanced protection which are used on some game discs e.g. Football Manager 2011. The default file format of daemon tools is Media Data Extended (MDX). Daemon tools supports the following formats b5t, b6t, bwt, ccd, cdi, cue, iso, isz, mds, mdx, nrg, ape, and flac images.
HOW TO USE DAEMON TOOLS LITE
After the installation of Daemon tools lite, if you are running Windows 7 or Vista version operating systems, a Daemon tools Gadget will be installed automatically which makes emulation of disc images easier. If not, you can locate the gadget installation file at C:\Program Files\DAEMON Tools Lite named DTLite. You can create up to four Virtual Drives using Daemon tools.
To add a Virtual Drive, Click on the + sign in the picture above, it will show you “Adding Virtual Drive”

And to remove a virtual drive, click on the X beside the particular drive you want to remove and it’ll show
If you are running other operating systems e.g. Windows XP, you’ll have to use the Mount ‘n’ Drive manager,
