Youwave Vs Bluestacks
Youwave and Bluestacks are the top android emulators out there... These emulators allow you to simulate and android environment on your pc. You get to run android apps like you were on your mobile. The Question thus arises... Which do you prefer? Youwave or Bluestacks??
Bluestacks is a free Android emulator while Youwave isn't free... You only get a trial period of a couple days before you get locked out.. so your only choice is to buy it or do like the black hats do.. crack it.
Bluestacks has a wonderful user Interface which beats that of Youwave bt Youwave gives you the real android feeling... Makes you experience the Android side of Life... These and many more are things that differentiate these apps... now up to you.. Which do you prefer and why?

Winning The Exhibition: A Reward
Last week, precisely on Wednesday, the 17th of April, 2013. KYD Evolution emerged as the winner of the NACOSS (Nigerian Association Of Computer Science Students)
University of Ilorin chapter Software exhibition. The day was a remarkable one as all participants were a force to reckon with. The Exhibition covered not just software but also Web Development, Graphics and Animation and any other category from the Computer science field.
The Second runner up, Had come up with a medical expert system which he called Steady Bits Automedes. This web application helps diagnose sicknesses and diseases based on symptoms specified by the user... A cool application i must say.
The runner-up, that is the Second place was a graphical designer that majored in Photoshop designs and Maya. He presented his designs which were... in one word... Breath-taking. He designed a lot of high quality and sophisticated images. But that wasnt all... He showcased Top-class website templates and had a loud round of applause from the audience.
Now, to us.. I went with my crew, KYD Evolution Inc. and we showcased a upgraded version of a website created for the school. The website was formally just a forum that connects students of the school together from various departments. The upgraded version, this time around is no longer just a forum, it now has various tools incorporated into it.. tools like, the map of the school, GPA Calculator, shop and lots more. The Forum section was developed using SMF(Simple machines forum). The UI was upgraded and it blew minds away.
We won majorly as we were solving the problem of connectivity in the school environment, a unique concept and presentation. Besides we were competing with those in their final year while we were still in our second year. Motivated quite a number of people.
The day was a wonderful day as we felt rewarded and fulfilled.

Viral Penetration: Virus Attack
Hello guys, recently virus attacks have been on the rise. More and more Laptops and computers are getting infected as the days roll by. The most fierce and common virus in this area is the "Password, sexy Virus". This virus corrupts all the files in any external memory storage plugged into the computer or laptop and turns most of the files into applications and hides the real files.
INFECTION
To View the files hidden by this virus, Go to Folder options > View > Select the Show hidden files and folder radio button. Scroll down and uncheck the "Hide protected Operating system files". Thats it.
PRECAUTION
The best way to avoid these viruses is to install USB Disk security, avoid opening any sort of applications from an external drive and most importantly, be careful about what you plug into your system.
REMOVAL
Removal is pretty tough... I removed mine using a linux operating system, Ubuntu.. I will soon post a tutorial on how to do that. The best way to get rid of this virus is to take it to a qualified personnel. To help fix it.

Profile Merging On Facebook
Its amazing the kind of work the Facebook developers are doing... Its becoming a normal thing to see a few upgrades at least once in a week to either the mobile or PC view. Some of these changes or should i say upgrades are extremely remarkable. I noticed one today, probably not new, which led to the writing of this post.
The title, "Profile merging" here, sounds pretty exciting and what it really does is it merges two people's profile, and displaying stuffs they have in common. Here's a preview of what i mean:

1. Image Combination
As you can see... the profile picture of the two, individual profiles were merged to get the new one.
2. Related Data
It displays information that we have in common, Location, School and the likes.
3. Address Bar Combo
The Address bar being merged allows you to view your combination with various people.. All you have to do is change the usernames to the ones you would like to combine.. E.g
"https://www.facebook.com/FirstUsername?and=SecondUsername"
4. Common Items
This section covers the Friends you have in common, pictures, page likes and events.

Operation Don't Crash: Driver Pack 2012 On Windows 8
Finally at night, On my laptop, also running Windows 8, i was planning on rounding up my code for the NACOSS(Nigerian Association of Computer Science Students) 2013 Unilorin exhibition, but before that i tried using DriverPack to fix my sound card missing driver issue and i was prompted to restart. Problem was... It wasnt coming back on..
I thought of all the code i had been writing for the exhibition and felt i had to do something urgently... I ran Automatic repair for about half an hour but it couldnt be repaired. It was the same problem my friend was having and i made fun of him.. i felt like i was being punished.
Like a bell struck at midnight, an idea popped in my head and i thought of System restore, i opened it through advanced options and i found a restore point just before installing driver pack. My system restored and my problem was solved.. Except for the fact that by the time it was fixed, i was already feeling sleepy... End of the night. I dunno if the driver pack isn't compatible with Windows 8.
The Exhibition however was a cool one, i exhibited a previous project, Unilorites which had undergone a major upgrade and i am happy to say it was good enough to win the exhibition. I won and was awarded NACOSS programmer of the year... A title to behold :-)

Microsoft Is Planning a Smart Watch Of Its Own
Hey guys, as the A to Z Blogging challenge continues, i was stumbling across the internet trying to get an inspiration for today's letter... the Letter "M" when i stumbled across a post on Fox News. Microsoft, one of the world's leading giant in technology is working on designs for a touch-enabled watch device, executives at suppliers said, potentially joining rivals like Apple in working on a new class of computing products.
Earlier this year, Microsoft asked suppliers in Asia to ship components for a potential watch-style device, the executives said. One executive said he met with Microsoft's research and development team at the software company's Redmond, Wash., headquarters. But it's unclear whether Microsoft will opt to move ahead with the watch, they said.
Microsoft declined to comment.
Some investors and big technology companies are betting on a boom in wearable, computerized devices built around the growing power and slimming size of sensors that can detect body temperature, geographic location and voice commands of people on the go.
Some of the new wearable gadgets, like Nike's FuelBand, measure physical activity, while others are intended to supplement functions of a smartphone, such as receiving text messages, taking photos or checking the weather. Apple has also experimented with designs for a wristwatch-style device, The Wall Street Journal reported earlier this year.
"We see growing demand for wearable gadgets as the size of the smartphone has become too big to carry around," said RBS analyst Wanli Wang. "A smart watch that is compatible with a smartphone and other electronics devices would be attractive to consumers."

Killing or Dying : Google Adsense
Google Adsense, the world or should i say the internet's leading advertising agency. A lot of Websites - or should i say majority - on the web make use of Google adsense as a source of monetizing their websites or blogs. Over the last years, since its inception, Google adsense has actually made bloggers and website owners have a bigger problem.. The problem now is that they have gotten stricter and its pretty much harder to get into the program, especially blogs.. This brings me to the question...
Is Google Adsense killing bloggers or is it Dying?
What i mean by the question posed above is that due to frustrations brought about by disapproved applications into adsense, is it making bloggers change their minds about blogging (killing) or is it losing new markets to other advertising platforms like Addynamo and the likes (dying).
As a blogger, after reading multiple posts on how to get approved by adsense and basically doing everything - except using a top domain, which i would be doing after the AtoZ Challenge -.... i am still being disapproved. If not for my passion, i would have probably stopped blogging like other money-driven bloggers would.
This question is really on my mind and i would like to get answers. Your opinion is highly needed..

Joomla 3.0 : Build Websites With Ease
Joomla is an award-winning content management system (CMS), which enables you to build Web sites and powerful online applications easily. Many aspects, including its ease-of-use and extensibility, have made Joomla the most popular Web site software available. Best of all, Joomla is an open source solution that is freely available to everyone.
Firstly, What is a Content Management System?
A content management system is software that keeps track of every piece of content on your Web site, much like your local public library keeps track of books and stores them. Content can be simple text, photos, music, video, documents, or just about anything you can think of. A major advantage of using a CMS is that it requires almost no technical skill or knowledge to manage. Since the CMS manages all your content, you don't have to.
Using a CMS comes with so much flexibility that you do not even need to learn how to code before you create your own website...
What Kind of Websites Can You build With Joomla?
Joomla is used all over the world to power Web sites of all shapes and sizes. For example:
- Corporate Web sites or portals
- Corporate intranets and extranets
- Online magazines, newspapers, and publications
- E-commerce and online reservations
- Government applications
- Small business Web sites
- Non-profit and organizational Web sites
- Community-based portals
- School and church Web sites
- Personal or family homepages
Why Choose Joomla 3.0?
Joomla 3.0, the latest release comes with a much more fluid and easy-to-use application that makes Website development much easier... Aside from all the reasons stated above, i recommend joomla if you are interested in making use of a CMS....
If you have any contradictions or questions, you can always drop a comment

How to Take Good Care of Your Laptop
1.Keep liquids away from your laptop. As tempting as it might be to drink coffee, soda, water or any other liquid near your laptop, accidents can happen all too easily. Spilled liquids may damage the internal components or cause electrical injury to the laptop. Short circuits can corrupt data or even permanently destroy parts. The solution is very simple: Keep your drinks away from your computer. Even if you're careful, someone else might bump into your desk or you. Or you can use a cup with a cover on it, so even if it does spill, the liquid doesn't go any where!
2. Having an available antivirus software would help. Even if you know what you download, it may contain a virus that can lead to a circuit error in your system hardware or slowness in the software.
3. Protect the LCD display monitor. When you shut your laptop, make sure there are no small items, such as a pencil or small ear-phones, on the keyboard. These can damage the display screen when shut; the screen will scratch if the item is rough. Close the lid gently and holding from the middle. Closing the lid using only one side causes pressure on that hinge, and over time can cause it to bend and snap.
4.Plug in accessory devices into their proper slots. Always look at the symbols on the laptop carefully before inserting devices. Jamming a phone line into an Ethernet port or vice versa could damage the sockets, making it impossible to use them again. It is very important to observe this step.
5. Handle any removable drives with care. Floppy drives or CD drives that have been removed from your laptop can easily get crushed, dropped or pressed if you are careless. Put them straight into a bag or a storage box/case for safe keeping if you are not putting them back into the laptop.
6.Don't leave your laptop in a car. Not only do the insides of cars experience large temperature swings that could damage a laptop, but a laptop (or laptop bag) is an inviting target for a smash and grab thief.
7. Avoid placing heavy materials, such as books, on top of your laptop and keyboard. This can push the LCD screen into the keyboard, and will eventually damage it. Also, the CD-ROM insert will also be squished and, eventually, will break.

Down Memory Lane
Waking up this morning and feeling the desire to do something not too techy for #AtoZChallenge... Putting aside my already written blogpost for today, i started thinking of a new topic but all that kept coming to my head were images from the past... From the beginning, all the way down here.
Today i remember when i first ventured into the world of technology, blogging and every other web stuff.. Starting from my very first web job, a moderator at Gidipeeps.com, now closed down up to today when i have my own websites and this blog. Makes me realize that Knowledge is not just power but actually a lot of power. I started off knowing almost nothing, and here i am today, not explicitly awesome but definitely something to reckon with. I thought of the level of knowledge i had when i got my first laptop - i used to use a desktop before then - and my current level, I have met a lot of people, geniuses in their own respective choice of careers and i must say i have been inspired by many of them.
I have decided to go wake up some of my lost inspirations, writing books, some of which i have written but never published. I want to write a book covering my journey from the start to this level... My Journey from a learner to a Blogger...
Thanks for stopping by..

Custom pages in blogger are often necessary at times. Especially when you have offers or give-aways. A custom page allows you to have a specific platform to carry out desired tasks..For example, writing an "About Us" or Privacy policy... Your choice... Here's a rundown of how its done...
STEP 1: Navigate to Dashboard > Pages. Click on the new page button.. A drop down will appear as in the image below \
Here you have two options, either creating a blank page which would be a location in your blog... or a Web address which would most likely contain an already created web page from an external source.
STEP 2: If you would like to add a page with fresh content to your blog, then select Blank page. You would be redirected to a page where you would input page title, Content (Content can also be written in HTML format) and other settings. Otherwise Click on Web Address, and you would be asked to input the title and address of the external source you would like to link to..
Save and you've got yourself a custom page.
